Annotation:
In class, we talked about annotation (taking notes while reading a text) to help you comprehend and get more involved with what you are reading. Many people make their notes right on the pages they are reading (as long as they own the book or article!). Look at the pictures to the left and at the bottom of this page. As you can see, many symbols and even color coding can be used while you annotate to help you better understand what the author is trying to tell you. You may also notice that everyone has their own style.
Visit www.philly.com, choose an article that is interesting to you, print it if you can, and annotate the article as you are reading along. You might want to read the article a couple of times before you annotate. If you cannot print the article, make notes on a separate piece of paper. Make sure you hand in your annotations, along with the article's title next class.
